Commentary on Elaine Thompson-Herah's 60m victory in Birmingham

5-time Olympic champion Elaine Thompson-Herah clocked a season's best 7.08 seconds to win the 60 metre event at the Muller Indoor Grand Prix in Birmingham, England on Saturday.

Thompson-Herah won ahead of Daryll Neita of Great Britain in 7.11 with Mujinga Kambundji of Switzerland finishing third in 7.13.

World Championships bronze medallist Stephenie-Ann McPherson was the other Jamaican winner on the day, taking the 400 metres in a personal best 51.39 seconds ahead of the Netherlands’ Lieke Klava 51.49 and Poland's Justyna Swiety-Ersetic 52.09.

Another Jamaican, Ronneisha McGreggor finished 4th in 52.32 with compatriot Janieve Russell 6th in 52.53.

Elsewhere, Olympic finalist Natoya Goule finished third in the 800 metres in 1 minute, 59.85 seconds with the win going to Great Britain's Keely Hodgkinson in a national record 1:57.20 seconds.

Olympic bronze medallist Ronald Levy ended last in the 60 metre hurdles in 7.87 seconds. World champion Grant Holloway won the event comfortably in 7.41 seconds.
