Two Jamaican boxers, Ricardo Brown and Shiloh Defreitas are now ranked in the top 20 of their respective divisions by the International Boxing Association (AIBA).

The 30 year old Brown is now rated at number 16 among the world's super heavyweights, while the 21 year old Defrietas who is based in England, is ranked 18th in the lightweight class.

The top 20 list is compiled based on performances in the past year in AIBA five major championships, which for this period are the World Championships, the Asian Boxing Confederation Championships, the European Championships, the Pan American Games and the All Africa Games.

Brown and Defreitas earned their ranking points at last year's Pan American Games in Lima, Peru, where Brown advanced to the semi-finals and earned a bronze medal, while Defreitas reached the quarter-finals. In the meantime, Brown has been receiving specialized training in Canada to help him sharpen his skills.
