Jamaica’s under-17 Reggae Boyz got their first point at the FIFA U-17 World Cup level on Friday but have bowed out of the tournament being held in Mexico.
The young Jamaicans ended their final game in the U-17 World Cup with a 1 – 1 with France.
The young Reggae Boyz needed to beat France by two clear goals to have a shot at qualifying as one of four third placed teams.
Andre Lewis' ninth minute goal gave Jamaica hope, but this was dashed when the team conceded in the 58th minute.
France, which missed a penalty, has progressed as Group “B” runner-up, as Japan defeated Argentina 3 – 1 to top-the group on goal difference.
