UWI wins again in Sherwin Williams Women's Premier Football League

University of the West Indies, Mona, chalked up their 2nd win of the campaign beating Harbour View 3-1 in the JFF Sherwin Williams Women's Premiere League Football on Wednesday at the Mona Bowl.

Brenda-Lee Walsh opened the scoring for the red and white clad Pelicans in the 25th minute. Three minutes later, Sharell Martin got the equalizer for Harbour View from the penalty spot.  But a defender's goal in the 17th minute pushed UWI ahead and on the stroke of the interval,  Lee-Walsh made it 3-1.

Cup holders, Barbican, made it three in a row to maintain their unbeaten record, winning 3-1 over Portmore Strikers.

Shenieke Smith scored twice in the comeback victory, after Portmore took a first half lead at Racing oval.

Waterhouse sent Arnett Gardens reeling to their 2nd straight defeat, winning 3-0, courtesy of a double from Junelle Watkins in the 76th and 79th minutes.

Manchester-based team, Los Perfectos dismissed St. James Women Academy 5-1. Rohema Bennett scored twice for los Perfectos.

Rangers of St. Mary drew 2-2 with Olympic Gardens, as did Boys' Town and Real Morant. Both teams were collecting their first point of the season.

The competition takes a break on Saturday to facilitate the Colourscape Knockout competition.
