Windies crush Bangladesh Cricket Board 11

The West Indies crushed the Bangladesh Cricket Board 11 by 118 runs in their 50-over tour match at the Sheikh Abu Naser stadium in Khulna on Wednesday.

Led by an all-round batting display, the West Indians posted a mammoth 361-7.

Lendl Simmons, 84; Devon Thomas ,61 not out,; Kieron Pollard, 44; Kieran Powell, 34; Darren Bravo ,31; and Dwayne Smith, 30, were the main scorers.

Jamaican André Russell scored 18 runs.

In reply the Bangladesh Cricket Board 11 was dismissed for 243 in 49.1 overs.

Imrul Kayes and Monimul Haque both made 43 against Sunil Narine 3-47, Kemar Roach 2-40 and Verasammy Permaul 2-52.

There was a wicket each for Russell, Ravi Rampaul and Pollard.

Pollard said Wednesday’s performance had put the team in a good frame of mind ahead of Thursday night's start of the five-match one-day series.

Jamaicans Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels are expected to take their places in the team for the opening match.
