Led by a career-best innings by Player of the Match and Player of the Series, Keacy Carty, the West Indies thrashed Ireland by 197 runs under the Duckworth Lewis Method in Dublin on Sunday to earn a 1-1 draw in their One Day International series.
After suffering a heavy 124 run loss in the first game on Wednesday, and a no result in the second encounter, the Caribbean team were eager to square the series.
Sent in to bat, the Windies piled up a mammoth 385-7 from their alloted overs. It was the second highest score for the West Indies in this format, bettered only by the 389 made against England in 2019.
Carty followed up his century in game two, with another masterful knock. He smashed 170 from 142 balls, which included 15 fours and 8 sixes.
Captain Shai Hope scored a run a ball 75, as he shared a third wicket partnership of 137 with Carty. Justin Greaves also joined the party, smashing an even 50 from just 23 balls. Barry Carthy was the pick of the Ireland bowlers with 3-100.
In reply, Ireland who were set a revised target of 363 in 46 overs, due to rain interruption, were dismissed for 165 in 29.5 overs. Two of the Ireland batsmen did not come to the crease due to injuries.
Jayden Seales led the bowling for the Windies, with 3-26, while three other bowlers picked up a wicket each. Cade Carmichael top scored for the Irish with 48.
The West Indies will now turn their attention to a three game ODI series against England starting on Thursday.
