'Windies' win first game on Sri Lanka tour

The West Indies have climbed a place to third in the international Twenty20 rankings after defeating Sri Lanka by 23 runs on ednesday to square their two match series.

Johnson Charles 34 and Andre Fletcher 23, laid a solid platform for West Indies who posted 162-6.

The two put on 62, the best opening stand for the ‘Windies’ on tour. Denesh Ramdin matched Charles' 34 from 22 deliveries while Dwayne Bravo recorded 31.

The Sri Lankans were then dismissed for 139 despite 52 from player of the series Tilekaratne Dilshan.

Bravo claimed career best T20 figures of 4-28 while Ravi Rampaul captured 3-20.

It was the only international win on the month long tour for the West Indies who were swept in both the test and ODI series.
