Young Jamaican wins 20-mile race at Elgin Cycling Classic

17 year old Jamaican champion Kahlil Francis continued his preparation for the Caribbean Cycling Union Junior Championships by winning the 20 mile race in the men's Category 3 section at the Elgin Cycling Classic in Chicago in the United States.

Representing Philly Bike Expo, Francis had also placed 2nd in race one on Friday's opening day. He has so far recorded 3 wins overall in the series to go along with one 2nd place finish and a 3rd place as well as 4th and 5th place  finishes.

He leads his category with 170 points overall in the series. The Caribbean Cycling Union Junior Championships will be ehld from August 30-31 in Barbados.

Francis is coached by former national cyclist and Olympian Peter Aldridge who represented Jamaica at the 1980, '84 and '88 Olympic Games.
