Caribbean Cement reaches major milestone in kiln expansion project

Caribbean Cement says it has achieved a major milestone in its kiln expansion project with the installation of a 160-tonne surge bin and solid fuel equipment.

This advancement will ensure a more stable and increased fuel supply during the cement-making process.

Managing Director Jorge Martinez says the installation marks a significant step toward enhancing production capabilities, as the company works to complete the project by mid-2025.

He emphasized the goal of meeting Jamaica's full demand for cement, reducing import dependency, and strengthening the construction sector.

Speaking at a customer appreciation event in Kingston recently, Mr. Martinez reaffirmed the company's commitment to sustainability and delivering long-term value to stakeholders.

The expansion project is expected to bolster Jamaica's cement industry while supporting regional growth.
