Some international payment options such as Apple Pay and Samsung Pay should be available in Jamaica by next year.

Scotia Group Jamaica has announced that it is looking to deploy the systems, which allow customers to use their cellular device to make payments, as they would with a card.

Perrin Gayle, head of Retail Banking at Scotia, says all the internal work has been done to launch the service.

President and CEO of Scotia Group Jamaica Audrey Tugwell Henry has also sought to allay concerns about Jamaica not having access to other popular payment systems such as Zelle.
