The JSE Index advanced by 319 points while the Junior Market Index declined by 6.10 points.
Declining shares outpaced advancing shares 57 to 40.
The top advancing stocks were Productive Business Solutions USD ordinary shares, Elite Diagnostic, Margaritaville (Turks), CAC 2000, TransJamaican Highway USD shares, and EduFocal.
The losers were led by KLE Group, Productive Business Solutions 9.5 per cent USD shares, tTech, Sygnus Credit Investments 8 per cent preference shares and 138 Student Living.
Eighteen shares closed the day trading at the same price they started at.
