Guyanese women arrested for cocaine bust at SIA plead guilty

The two Guyanese women who were charged in connection with the multi-million dollar cocaine bust at the Sangster International Airport in St James pleaded guilty when they appeared before the St James Parish Court today.

The women 21 year-old Oshaura Aneisha Moses and 27 year old Abiki Loreata Moses, both of George Town, Guyana, pleaded guilty to the charges of possession of, dealing in, and attempting to export cocaine.

They both, however, pleaded not guilty to the charge of conspiracy to export cocaine.

The women were each sentenced to 10 months' imprisonment at hard labour by presiding parish judge Sasha-Marie Ashley.

The women were preparing to board a flight to London on April 4, when they were nabbed by police.

Twenty-one pounds of cocaine, with a street value of 120-million Jamaican dollars was found in their luggage.
