The police say since last week's launch of the special initiative to remove illegal motor vehicle lights, more than 1,000 tickets have been issued islandwide.
Tickets were also issued for other breaches of the Road Traffic Act.
The initiative, which was launched on November 25, resulted in more than 500 motor vehicle plates being removed.
In addition, several persons were arrested and vehicles seized.
