There was a three per cent decline in murders in Jamaica during the period January 1 to June 27.
According to statistics from the Jamaica Constabulary Force, 653 people were killed during the period under review, down from 673 during the corresponding period in 2019.
Eight of the 19 police divisions recorded increases.
The police divisions with the highest rise in murders were Kingston West, Kingston Central, St Andrew North, St Catherine North and St Ann.
