Uchence gang trial: Chief Justice to take three additional days to complete summation

The remaining persons on trial for allegedly being involved in the Uchence Wilson gang will have to wait a while longer to know their fate.

Prior to adjourning Wednesday afternoon, Chief Justice Bryan Sykes said he needed three additional days to complete his summation.

Justice Sykes spent the day summing up text messages and calls involving the alleged gang members.

The Chief Justice is now summing up the case against the 16 defendants, including a member of the Jamaica Constabulary Force.

There were originally 18 defendants, however, Justice Sykes freed two of the accused on Tuesday, noting that there was not sufficient evidence to prove the men knowingly provided a benefit to a criminal organisation.
