Cedella puts end to rumours of Rita Marley's death

Cedella Marley this weekend took to social media to put an end to a hoax that family matriarch Rita Marley had died.
 
Social media was last weekend were flooded with questions and condolences, after rumours swirled that the 74-year-old had died on Friday.
 
Cedella quieted the noise with a video of her mother Rita jamming to the music of her late husband, reggae icon Bob Marley.
 
Rita spoke on camera; however, her speech was slurred, having suffered a stroke in 2016.
 
The video has been reposted by Culture and Entertainment Minister Olivia Grange.
 
Donna Hope, Professor of Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies, Mona, described the rumour as cavalier and cruel.
