Canadian Jewish rapper Drake gave away US$1 million instead of spending it on his latest music video, released Friday, saying it was the most important thing he has ever done in his career.
The new video for the rapper's single, God's Plan, begins by stating that the budget to film the clip was $996,631 which he gave away to needy Americans.
The video shows the rapper giving away money in Miami, including a $50,000 scholarship to a University of Miami student.
He surprises other Miami residents with wads of cash and goes into a supermarket announcing to customers that everything they want to buy is on him.
He donated money to a women's shelter and $25,000 to an after-school program.
He also purchased cars for those in need.
