Jordan Peele's Get Out has placed him in the Oscar history books.
Peele was crowned the winner in the best original screenplay category at Sunday night's Academy Awards, making him the first black screenwriter to receive the honour.
Peele also made history, becoming the first black director to receive nominations in the writing, directing, and best picture categories for his directorial debut.
Meanwhile, The Shape of Water, a film about a woman and an amphibious creature, won top honours at the Oscars.
The film won the most Oscars with four, including best film.

Britain's Gary Oldman was named best actor for playing Winston Churchill in World War II epic Darkest Hour.
Retired Los Angeles Lakers basketball player Kobe Bryant also brought home an Oscar for his contributions to the animated short Dear Basketball, based on a poem he wrote in 2015 announcing his impending retirement from the game.
