Kanye West splits with Gap

Rapper Ye formerly Kanye West, is terminating his rocky two-year-old partnership with clothing company Gap.

His legal team said in a statement that West had no choice but to terminate their collaboration because of an alleged retailer breach by not opening branded Yeezy stores and distributing his apparel as originally planned, among other things.

The Gap partnership was announced in June 2020 and was set to continue through 2026.

The relationship has soured in recent months, with the Chigaco rapper criticizing Gap for not listening to him.

 Shares of Gap were down 3% in afternoon trading following the announcement.
