Fox5 New York is reporting that incarcerated dancehall artiste Vybz Kartel is suffering from Graves' Disease and a heart condition.
The network is claiming that it has seen a sworn medical affidavit from a private doctor notifying authorities that Kartel's condition is worsening and could be fatal if he does not get surgery soon.
The report also features attorney Isat Buchanan who claimed that the entertainer, who was convicted of murder, is being held under inhumane conditions.
Our newscentre reported last week that the Department of Correctional Services is probing how Kartel came to be in possession of two cellular phones a day apart at the Tower Street Adult Correctional Facility.
The DCS says he was among three inmates found with the prohibited device and his movements were being restricted pending the outcome of the investigations.
