Rihanna pays homage to dancehall in Savage X Fenty Vol. 4 fashion show

Global pop star Rihanna paid homage to Jamaica's dancehall culture in the latest installment of her Savage x Fenty fashion show. 

Scene 15 of the 40-minute show features the hit dancehall single Pull Up To Mi Bumper by Konshens and late singer J-Capri, released in 2013. 

The song, produced by international dancehall producer Rvssian, became a hit for J.Capri and has since surpassed 20 million views on YouTube. 

The 23-year-old, born Jordan Phillips, died on December 4, 2015, following a motor vehicle crash some two weeks prior.

Savage x Fenty Vol. 4 also featured performances by Brazilian pop artiste Anita, soul singer Maxwell and Afrobeats superstar Burna Boy, who performed his hit single Last Last, which has been certified Gold in the United States and the United Kingdom and Platinum in Canada since being released in May. 

There were special guest appearances by actors Taylour Paige, Marsai Martin, Damson Idris, Taraji P. Henson, Winston Duke, Johnny Depp, and Sheryl Lee Ralph, who was recently honoured with membership in the Order of Jamaica at the National Honours and Awards.

Chart-topping music from rappers Kendrick Lamar, Outkast, Missy Elliot, Nas, Pop Smoke, 50 Cent, and Rihanna's baby daddy A$AP Rocky set the tone for the various scenes throughout the lingerie show.

 

The one-of-a-kind event is available for streaming on Amazon Prime.
