Two-time T20 World Cup winner, Jamaica's Andre Russell is set to retire from international cricket. According to impeccable Radio Jamaica Sports sources, the 37 year old all-rounder is set to step away during the Australia T20 series which concludes in St Kitts on July 28.
The first two matches are set for Sabina Park on Sunday, July 20 and Tuesday, the 22nd. Russell who has played 84 T20 internationals since his debut in 2011, has scored 1078 runs at an average of 22, including three fifties.
He also has 61 wickets at an average of 30.59. Russell's impending retirement will follows that of Nicholas Pooran at age 29 last month. Russell last represented West Indies in may during the 3-0 T20 series loss to England.
The West Indies next major tournament will be the T20 world Cup in India and Sri Lanka set for February and March 2026.
