The annual Sterling Gospel Awards is set to return with a live physical format after two years of virtual showcases caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.
The 6th staging of the event is scheduled for October 8, at its new location, The Ambassadors on Hagley Park Road, under the theme "A Diamond Celebration of Gospel Music in Jamaica."
This showcase will incorporate Jamaica's 60th Diamond Jubilee celebrations by focusing on excellence in the Jamaican Gospel Music Industry over the past 60 years.
The album of the year category will feature DJ Nicholas, Dean Smith, and Dweeno, and the Breakout Sensation category includes Oshane McHugh, Victor Brown, Sone G, and Prince Saj.
The male artiste of the year will be between Kevin Downswell, Chozenn, Jermaine Edwards, Orville Sutherland, and DJ Nicholas, while the female category features Marion Hall, Rhoda Isabella, Petra-Kaye Linton, and Marvia Providence.
Other categories include EP of the Year, Group of the Year, Collab of the Year, Local Hit of the Year, Producer of the Year, and Caribbean Artiste of the Year.
The music awards show is dubbed the premier awards ceremony for the gospel community in the Caribbean.
Organizers have planned a series of events for this year's celebration, including an All-White Nominee Lyme on October 7.
