Musicians have shared tributes on social media following the passing of dub and reggae pioneer, Jah Shaka, commonly called Zulu Warrior yesterday.
The cause of death is unknown.
The Clarendon-born singer, producer and record label owner moved to the UK at an early age where he rose to prominence in the 1970s.
Although his deep understanding of the roots and culture of reggae music, coupled with his stage presence, made him a beloved figure among reggae enthusiasts, his influence extended beyond the music industry.
He was also known for his philanthropic efforts, supporting various charitable causes and community initiatives.
He is survived by five children.
