The Agriculture, Forestry & Fishing industry saw increased growth for the April to June quarter.
For the three month period, the sector's GDP improved by 6.3 per cent.
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica (STATIN) says the improved performance was due to higher levels of output in the sub-sectors other Agricultural Crops (which includes Animal Farming, Forestry & Fishing) and Traditional Export Crops.
Favourable weather conditions as well as the continuation of support programmes implemented by the government to increase crop production also positively affected the quarter's performance.
There was also increased demand for local produce from hotels and restaurants.
