The Ministry of Agriculture is continuing to engage the private sector to identify buyers and distributors with cold storage facilities island-wide.
The initiative seeks to find new markets for the excess fruits and vegetables and other agricultural items from farmers impacted by COVID-19.
So far, 1.1 million pounds of produce, impacting more than 1,000 farmers across 10 parishes have been moved.
The ministry has now teamed with agriculture and food processing facility, Lyford Logistics in St. Ann to store excess produce.
