Carnival Cruise Lines has rolled out a new vacation guarantee programme that allows customers to end their cruises early and receive a 110 per cent refund if they are unhappy with their trips. The move follows a series of vessel mishaps.
The programme also includes a complimentary return flight home and a US$100 dollar shipboard credit for a future cruise. The programme is valid on all three- to eight-day voyages to The Bahamas, Caribbean, Mexican Riviera, Alaska, Canada and New England departing through April 30, 2015. The programme applies to US and Canadian residents only.
Carnival appears headed for its third straight year of lower profits, dragged down by the recession and negative publicity following several incidents involving its vessels.
