Jamaicans spent more money on home renovations in the last year.
The Statistical Institute of Jamaica says point-to-point inflation was 5.6 per cent for the division 'Furnishings, Household Equipment and Routine Household Maintenance', for the 12 months ended June.
For the month of June alone, STATIN says costs associated with the division increased by 2.9 per cent.
The group 'Goods and Services for Routine Household Maintenance' rose by 3.8 per cent.
STATIN says the 15.4 per cent increase in National Minimum Wage which became effective June 1, 2024, had an impact on domestic workers' wages which affected the group's inflation.
