A US$1.5 million investment has been made to bring the Dinner in the Sky concept to Jamaica.

Construction of the structure is underway in Negril.

CEO of Dinner in the Sky Jamaica, Samantha Ksloir, says the novelty restaurant will begin service in August.

It will take diners 45 metres into the air.

Dinner in the Sky is currently operated in 67 different countries, with Jamaica being the 68th.

Ms. Ksloir says the prices will start at US$220 per person for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays, while VIP rates go up to $310 per person.

The price is inclusive of meal, entertainment and transportation within Negril, if needed.

Diners will be entertained by a live DJ as they enjoy their meal.

The company says so far, more than 50 people have been employed on the project.

Most of the workers are locals.

The company is also eyeing Ocho Rios as another location.
