Veritas considers BlackBerry takeover offer

Private equity firm Veritas Capital has made an offer to buy Canadian software company BlackBerry

U.S-listed shares of BlackBerry rose about 17 per cent.

Veritas and Blackberry did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
