Montego Bay-based dancehall group Merital Family has cut ties with Vybz Kartel and the Portmore Empire.
Dancehall artiste Jah Vinci and producer Not Nice have also left the Portmore camp.
Business Man Corey Todd has also severed ties with Vybz Kartel.
Merital Family says it will be handling its own booking and management in the near future.
According to Merital Family, for the last year and a half, they have been stifled, they have been overpriced and have consistently been said to be on tour when they were still in Jamaica.
They said in a recent interview they highlighted one thing they were peeved about that they were not mentioned in the writing credits of the hit song, My Money Ha Ha.
They said VP Records called them about doing some promotion of the song, and that is how they found out it had been sold to a record label.
In the meantime, the group has continued to record songs, and is now open for bookings.
