A 12-year-old boy is dead and his mother in hospital with bullet wounds after they were attacked at the intersection of Lindsay Crescent and Dunrobin Avenue in St. Andrew on Friday morning.
Another relative escaped injury.
Deputy Superintendent Randy Sweeney, Commanding Officer for the St. Andrew North Police Division, said the boy, his brother and mother stopped at the traffic signal sometime after 7.
Two men on a motorcycle drove up and the pillion opened fire on their vehicle.
The 12-year-old boy and his mother were shot.
He later died at hospital.
