A fourth-form student of Happy Grove High School died in a motor vehicle collision in St. Thomas early Saturday morning.
Four other people were admitted to hospital reportedly in serious condition.
The deceased is 16-year-old Abrionna Rose, of Duhaney Pen in Portland.
According to police reports, about 3 a.m. Saturday, five people were travelling in a motorcar in a westerly direction on the Duhaney Pen main road in St. Thomas.
Preliminary reports say the driver reportedly lost control of the motor car and collided with an asphalt paving machine parked on the right side of the road.
All five occupants received injuries and were transported to hospital where they were admitted in serious condition.
Abrionna Rose later died while undergoing treatment.
Abrionna's death brings to three, the number of road fatalities in St. Thomas since Wednesday.
