A 17-year-old boy has been charged with sexual offences allegedly committed against his five-year-old sister in St. Ann.

Detectives from the Centre for the Investigation of Sexual offences and Child Abuse (CISOCA) charged the teen with incest and rape after a report was made nearly two weeks ago.

He appeared before the Brown's Town Children's Court on Tuesday.

A psychiatric report was ordered by the court for his return date on September 3.

Allegations are that on a number of occasions, the teen touched his sister inappropriately while she was left in his care.

It is further alleged that on July 12, the teenager was giving his sister a bath when he sexually molested her.

The matter was reported to the police and the boy arrested.

The five-year-old was taken to hospital where she remains for treatment.
