Cash for gold robbers dig up grave

The cash-for-gold trade is getting the thumbs down, from a rural St. Ann community, after a sepulchre was illegally dug open by men said to be desperately searching for gold in Glascoe Lodge, Murray Mountain, St Ann.

The men plundered the casket of a man who was buried twenty years ago.  According to reports, while at a dance in the community, on the weekend, several men said to be aligned to the illegal cash-for-gold trade went to a graveyard and dug open the entire side of a tomb where the remains of Kenneth Gordon also called "Wally Dread" were buried in 1991.

Reports are that Wally Dread who resided in Canada was killed and his body flown to Jamaica and buried in the family plot.  It's alleged that Gordon was buried with gold rings, several gold chains and bracelets.

The men who have been making enquiries in the community reportedly made off with the jewellery.  But the action has left some residents outraged and they now want the police to take tougher actions against persons in the notorious cash for gold trade.  The residents say they are even more concerned about the welfare of their children who wander near the grave site as the remains are yet to be re-buried.  Authorities are reportedly making arrangements for the remains to be re-buried.
