The northbound section of Constant Spring Road in St. Andrew has been reduced to single-lane traffic to facilitate repair works.
The National Works Agency says the changes took effect Friday night along the roadway between the Ministry of Justice and Manor Park.
NWA Communication Manager Stephen Shaw says the work will be executed over the next two weeks from 9:00 p.m to 4:00 a.m., each night.
The NWA says the work will include removal of sections of the asphaltic concrete surface through a process referred to as milling, and the laying of a new surface.
It says some sheet patching will also be done in selected areas.
Mr. Shaw says the work is being done under the heading of the defects liability, which formed part of the rehabilitative works contract executed by China Harbour Engineering Company for the widening of the corridor.
Motorists are being advised to proceed with caution.
