The Police Fraud Squad has been called in to investigate reports of missing funds from the account of the Maggotty High School in St Elizabeth.
RJR News has learnt that about $1 million cannot be accounted for.
It is understood that the person at the centre of the alleged fraud was sent on leave.
The individual cannot be located.
According to reports, over the January to June period this year, a clerk attached to the Bursar's Office forged the signatures of the signing officers, prepared and encashed several cheques.
Since the investigations started last month, it has been reportedly expanded to include other officers at the school.
Members of the Fraud Squad were at the school on Wednesday as they continue their investigations.
