Dominica: LGBT support groups hopeful for repeal to laws that criminalize LGBT people

The Minority Rights Dominica and the HIV Legal Network say they remain hopeful that the High Court will follow Antigua and Barbuda and St. Kitts-Nevis in repealing laws that criminalize LGBT people in the Caribbean.

The High Court will today begin hearing a constitutional challenge from a gay man who is seeking to have two sections of the Sexual Offences Act that criminalize consensual same-sex activities ruled unconstitutional.

The two groups are supporting the case to end the criminalization of LGBT people in Dominica.
