Drug dealers UK/JA assets seized

A British drug dealer who flew to Jamaica to mail cocaine concealed in skin cream to a friend has been stripped of his assets.

Jerome Kelly, 29, who had a home at Kingswood in Bristol admitted conspiracy to fraudulently evade a prohibition on the importation of  a Class A drug last October, and was jailed for seven and a half years.

The police searched one of his houses and reportedly found a ten-ton press and a piece of equipment used by drug dealers to compact cocaine into blocks.

At Bristol Crown Court on Wednesday made a confiscation order against Kelly.

He was found to have made nearly £30,000 from his criminal lifestyle, and ordered to pay £23,795 – the total value of all his assets which included three vehicles and jewellery.

If he does not pay within four months he faces another year in jail and will still owe the money.

The parcel with the drugs was intercepted by officers from Avon and Somerset Police's Serious Crime Group at Heathrow airport.
