A Jamaican man who reportedly served in the Jamaica Defence Force and his former wife have been found dead inside an apartment in Georgia, with police saying the case appears to be domestic in nature.
The deceased have been identified as 25-year-old Leon Anthony Myers and Celeste Cyan Morgan, also 25, both residents of Brunswick, Georgia.
According to the Glynn County Police Department, officers were called to the Camilla Apartments at 5800 Altama Avenue at around 4 p.m. Monday to conduct a welfare check.
Police said officers determined that "exigent circumstances" existed when they arrived, prompting them to enter the apartment. Myers and Morgan were found dead inside.
Authorities said the two had previously been married and that Morgan was the primary resident of the apartment.
Myers, a Jamaican national and former Jamaica Defence Force soldier, was originally from Brandon Hill on the St. Andrew-St. Mary border.
Police have not disclosed how Myers and Morgan died, and their official causes and manners of death have not yet been determined.
Authorities said those details are being withheld pending the completion of autopsies.
