The trial of alleged a Clansman Gang leader Tesha Miller and 24 co-accused is now set to begin on February 2, 2026.
Justice Dale Palmer on Monday ruled on the new trial date after prosecutors admitted they were not trial ready, citing incomplete disclosure and outstanding forensic evidence.
The trial, which was scheduled to begin last Wednesday, was delayed due to missing DNA evidence, cell phone forensic reports, cyber crime analysis and transcripts from a pre-trial hearing.
Prosecutors told the court that some of these reports could take several weeks to be completed.
The court was also informed that reference DNA samples from at least one witness were taken only last week while samples from four of the accused are still outstanding.
In handing down his ruling, Justice Palmer said he considered complaints from defence attorneys who reported being restricted from bringing electronic devices into correctional facilities, limiting their ability to review evidence from their clients.
However, that issue was rectified last Friday following the attendance of the Commissioner of Corrections Radgh Mason.
Prosecutors alleged the accused are members of the Clansman Gang and were involved in multiple crimes across St. Catherine between 2017 and 2022.
The charges include murder, conspiracy to murder, attempted murder, robbery and aggravation and illegal possession of firearms and ammunition.
The case involves 16 separate incidents and up to 99 potential witnesses.
