Justice Minister Delroy Chuck
Justice Minister Delroy Chuck has confirmed that a submission will soon be taken to cabinet for increasing the stipend for jurors.
In March, the Director of the Court Administration Division said a proposal was submitted to the Justice Ministry for the increase in the money paid to jurors.
Mr Chuck said on Tuesday that the proposed increase has been the subject of discussion for the last two months.
He said it was also being recommended that persons called but ultimately not selected to be part of the jury pool be compensated for the cost of their travel to the selection process.
