A crucial meeting has been called for today in a last ditch attempt to end the impasse involving bookmakers and Caymanas Track Limited, CTL.
The meeting could also determine if racing takes place tomorrow at Caymanas Park.
Major players in the horse racing industry including trainers and owners, decided not to run their horses on Saturday after a dispute with Caymanas Track over rights fees.
The Jamaica Racing Commission had given approval for Saturday's postponed meet to go ahead tomorrow pending a meeting held yesterday with the stakeholders and Minister without portfolio in the Finance Ministry ,Horace Dalley.
During the meeting, Mr. Dalley ruled that the status quo on the new bookmakers rights fee of seven percent would remain in place and discussed further at a summit of all stakeholders later this month.
