Met Office issues Flash Flood Watch

The Met Service has issued a Flash Flood Watch for low-lying and flood-prone areas of Hanover, St. James, Trelawny, St. Ann, St. Mary, Portland and St. Thomas until 5 o'clock Wednesday afternoon.

A Flash Flood Watch means that flash flooding is possible and residents are advised to take precautionary measures, keep informed by listening to further releases from the Meteorological Service and be ready for quick action if flooding is observed or if a Warning is issued.

A Frontal Boundary and a Trough in the vicinity of Jamaica are expected to continue to influence weather conditions across the island Tuesday and Wednesday.

Radar reports indicate that light to moderate and occasionally heavy showers have been affecting sections of northern parishes since Monday night.

While the Trough lingers east of Jamaica, the Front is expected to move across the island Wednesday.
