Minister of Labour and Social Security Pearnel Charles Jr. on Tuesday afternoon announced that millions of dollars in grants will be given to families whose homes were destroyed by Hurricane Beryl.
He said an assessment revealed that 500 homes were destroyed by the hurricane.
Mr. Charles said these affected families will receive a grant of $400,000 from the government.
Those whose homes were severely damaged will receive $150,000 and those who suffered minor damage will receive $50,000.
Mr. Charles was speaking in Parliament on Tuesday afternoon.
