More rain forecast for Jamaican this weekend

Increased rainfall is in the forecast Jamaican this weekend.

This is due to a broad trough, associated with  Potential Tropical Cyclone Nine, located near the eastern tip of Cuba.

The Meteorological Service of Jamaica says, although this area of disturbed weather is moving northwestward across The Bahamas, unstable weather conditions across Jamaica are expected to continue into this weekend due to an induced trough.

The forecast is for periods of showers and thunderstorms, which could be heavy at times, across sections of most parishes, especially the eastern half of the island, until Sunday.

A Flash Flood Warning has been issued for low-lying and flood-prone areas of all parishes, effective until 5:00 a.m., Sunday.

Fishers and other marine interests, especially on the south and north eastern coasts, are being told to exercise caution as sea conditions will deteriorate in the vicinity of showers, thunderstorms, and strong gusty winds into Sunday.
