More than 600 rounds of ammunition seized in Westmoreland

 
The police seized more than 600 rounds of ammunition during a major operation in Culloden district, White House, Westmoreland on Tuesday. 
 
The operation targeted wanted men, prohibited weapons and unauthorised ammunition and dangerous drugs. 
 
It started at 11 a.m. and continued until 3 p.m.
 
A total of five hundred and one 9mm rounds of ammunition, eighty-two 5.56 cartridges, and forty .38 rounds of special ammunition, as well as three pounds of cashew, were found in a hilly terrain among dry shrubs concealed in a clear plastic bag, packaged in specifically labelled ammunition boxes. 
 
The operation was a follow-up to one conducted Monday, targeting a major player in the guns for drugs trade.
