Anti-corruption protests escalated in Nepal's capital Kathmandu on Tuesday, as the country's parliament was set ablaze.
Demonstrators had earlier stormed the office of the Nepali Congress and the country's largest party, as well as the homes of several prominent politicians.
The unrest was sparked by a social media ban, which has now been reversed by the government. It has now grown into a wider anti-corruption movement that took to the streets on Monday.
In total, at least 22 people have been killed in the protests and dozens more injured.
As protests raged, Nepal's prime minister, KP Sharma Oli, resigned from his post.
Meanwhile, hundreds of inmates have escaped from jails in two of Nepal's western districts, officials confirm, as unrest grips the country.
Nepal's army says it is committed to taking control of the situation.
