Ninja Man and son kept behind bars

Popular dancehall artiste Desmond "Ninja Man" Ballentine was again denied bail Thursday when he returned to court on a charge of murder.

His 20-year-old son Janeil Ballentine and another man, Clayton Dennis, who are charged for the murder of Ricardo Johnson, were also denied bail.

Investigators alleged that on March 16, Ninja Man and the two accused were travelling in a motor car along Marl Road in Olympic Gardens when they opened gunfire on a man.

The bullets missed the target and struck Mr. Johnson who was leaning on a fence.

He was taken to hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Ninja Man later surrendered to the police, while Janeil and Mr. Dennis were captured in a police operation in St Ann.

The three are to return to court on June 1.
