Ninja Man’s teenage son not yet charged

The teenaged son of dancehall artiste, Desmond Balentine, more popularly known as Ninja Man, has not yet been charged.

The teenager is facing charges stemming from the death of a man in which his father has also been charged.

Commanding Officer for the Major Investigations Taskforce, Superintendent Selvin Haye says the teenager will be interrogated Tuesday or Wednesday.

According to Superintendent Haye, a police team will also be heading to St. Ann to gather more information before charges are laid.

The teen was picked up in an operation in Breadnut Hill, Ocho Rios on Saturday.

During the operation, the unarmed teenager and another man were caught hiding in a store room on the premises.

The motor vehicle allegedly used in the killings was also found on the compound.

Ninja Man was charged for the March 17 killing of Ricardo Johnson, 20, also known as "Ricky Trooper".

The police say Ninja Man and a group of men, including his son, were involved in a dispute with a man on Marl Road in Olympic Gardens, St. Andrew on March 17 when they fired shots at the man.

The bullets missed the man but hit Mr. Johnson, killing him.
